Colour film is a challenging beast to scan with subtlety, but the Pakon F135+ can be made to spit out 16-bit raw files and with a little bit of software, give you 16-bit positive, flat TIFFs to edit. The is from a Kodak Ektar negative, first through the normal JPEG method, then through the raw method with some contrast added (that's all). What is revealed in a result like this is the beautiful and subtle colour separation available in a colour negative film, which too often is thrown away by built-in scanner software when they apply a strong tone curve.
