Photographer Kiên Hoàng Lê went exploring in Tokyo’s entertainment district: meeting night owls and lovers, artists and cross-dressers, outsiders and lonely people – a colourful combination in black and white, all centred in a tiny bar.
Born in Hanoi, Hoàng Lê grew up close to Berlin. In 2013, he received his Bachelor in Advanced Visual Storytelling at the Danish School of Media and Journalism. After that he studied photojournalism and documentary photography in Hanover.
He explored Tokyo with a Leica M9, a Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 Asph and a Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 Asph.
