Can I please start by saying this is no technical test, just a basic scan of two images using both scanners, Fuijifilm SP3000 $5500-$6000 (2016) and Pakon F135+ $500-$900 (2016). Took them into post to quickly see how they compare.
You could obviously do a much beter job thean the 3 minutes I spent using Photoscape Freeware. I am certain if you wished, we could get them looking dam close. Maybe we will do just that in the future.......
Although the Pakon is a fly weight in terms of cost, it really does a nice job with the black and whites. You can see the obvious detail improvement with the SP3000. This is to be expected, it really depends on what your needs are. Web or blog the Pakon does the job even actually printing up to A2. If your after gallery or Fine Art printing a little patience and practice will see some amazing results... just sell a Kidney and it is yours, if you can actually find one.
A side Note: Fujifilm Australia had '49' SP3000 in storage, This January 2016 instead of selling them, they destroyed them.
